Last week we attended the XI Pedagogical Congress titled ‘Crisis. Let’s build a better world within and between us”, which took place at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań on September 20-22. During the conference, our researchers presented the analysis made within the project focusing on youth organisations’ discourse, especially groups’ identification, values assigned to them and different forms of participation of these organisations in social life.
Within section 1, session 3 “Youth, school and teachers problems” they introduced two presentations:
- „Citizenship discourses in youth organizations operating in Poland. Part I. Belonging to a group (s) / community (s)” by Prof. Violetta Kopińska, Dr Klaudia Wolniewicz-Slomka and Prof. Helena Ostrowicka;
- „Citizenship discourses in youth organizations operating in Poland. Part II. Participation” by Dr Celina Czech-Włodarczyk, Dr Magdalena Cuprjak and Prof. Helena Ostrowicka.
After the presentations, there was time for discussion, which allowed our researchers to tell a bit more about the project itself and answer questions from the audience.
The Pedagogical Congress is a unique opportunity for inspiring discussions with other pedagogues, which is even more important in the present difficult times.
Prof. Helena Ostrowicka is currently on a research scholarship in the United States and could not attend the Congress in person.
Below is a short photo-relation from the event.
